Disaster response is in focus for the month of September and Hurricane Dorian is an important reminder of UMCOR's U.S. and international disaster response work.
In a recent message, Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton, president of the UMCOR board of directors, said hurricanes Dorian, Harvey, Irma, Maria, Michael and Matthew showed us that storms are now more intense and devastating than ever before, which means those working in disaster response and recovery must become more innovative and creative. This requires additional resources.

Please continue to pray for those whose lives are impacted by natural disasters. Please also pray for the Early Response Teams, disaster coordinators, and many volunteers who are working tirelessly to provide relief after Harvey.
