Special Music

Music has always held a central place in Methodist worship. As John Wesley once wrote in his Directions for Singing, “Sing spiritually… have an eye to God in every word you sing,” reminding us that music is not just art, but a pathway to encountering the Holy. At Covenant, we are deeply grateful for the gifted musicians who enrich our worship and help our community experience the presence of God through sound. Each year, our Advent Special Music Service and our Spring Special Music Service showcase the dedication and artistry of our music ministries, lifting the congregation into a spirit of praise and reflection. We also give thanks for the many guest musicians—oboists, cellists, trumpeters, harpists, violinists, piano duets, saxophonists, and vocalists—whose talents expand the beauty of our worship life. Covenant warmly invites community members with musical gifts to contact us about collaborative opportunities.

Week after week, our Chancel Choir—under the direction of our gifted choir director and organist, Sarah Batchelor—leads us in joyful, faithful praise. On a monthly basis, the Children’s Choir, also directed by Sarah, and the Covenant Ringers, under the direction of Kirk Schneider, enrich our worship with their dedication, musicality, and heartfelt offering of praise. Together, these ensembles help our community experience the beauty and depth of God’s presence through music.
