On June 5th, Covenant’s 100th Pentecost, members with 50 or more years of continuous membership were honored. During the service those in attendance were recognized (see photo below). All were acknowledged in the bulletin insert (see below) and received a special gift. See photos below from the reception that followed.
With palm branches, choir and percussion, and very loud “Hosannas” from the congregation directed by Pastor Kevin, Covenant celebrated its 100th Palm Sunday. As Pastor Mark noted, Palm Sunday remembers Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and Passion Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. Watch the service below.
The Larry Lucker family gifted Covenant this communion set in memory of their wife and mother, Jane Lucker, many years ago. This set was used during January and February of Covenant’s Anniversary Year.
Covenant’s egg hunt saw lots of rabbit ears (Pastor Mark included) and chick headbands scurrying through the yard and playground at Covenant. Approximately 25 children from Covenant’s Sunday School and Nursery School combed the grass, bushes, flowers, and even door handles for colorful plastic eggs filled with candy.
