Covenant’s Very Own Mystery

This chalice dates to the mid-1900’s. It is seen in photographs of Covenant in the 1970’s. While its origin is unknown it is too new to be part of the church at its founding in 1922 or its first building in 1924. It is believed that the chalice might be the one mentioned by Rev. John McElroy’s writeup “A Thanksgiving Remembrance” in the dedication program for the “New Church” on February 17, 1946. He mentions a silver communion set from the former Union Methodist Church of Philadelphia.
