ASP Team’s NY Contingent is Doing a Supplies Drive
This year, Covenant’s Appalachia Service Project team will include three young men from Yorktown Heights, New York. Matt, Johann and Kyle will be joining the team for our trip to Perry County, Kentucky. They have been doing their part to support the team from home. They did their own “Egg My Yard” Easter egg fundraiser, contributed a Petals, Pedals and Pancakes auction item and are doing their own Bike Hike ride.
Another way they’ve come up with to support our effort is a mission trip supplies drive. Matt posted this in their local FaceBook group:
My name is Matt Morello. I am a Junior at Yorktown High School. My two friends, Johann and Kyle and I will be going on a mission trip to Appalachia with the Appalachia Service Project the end of this month. While we don’t know our location yet, we do know that we will need general supplies to help those less fortunate make their homes warmer, safer and drier. If you have any new or gently used items you’d like to donate, please dm my mom and I will arrange pick up. Thank you!
Items needed: gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, carpenter pencils, containers for nails and screws (can be used coffee cans, milk jugs, etc), tarps, paint brushes/rollers, tool aprons (belts), utility knives, etc
When they arrive on June 29th to join us for our trip to Perry County, they’ll have a load of supplies that our crews and other crews can use to complete some much needed home repairs. Please wish them well.
