Covenant Couples Renew Their Commitments
On a beautiful September afternoon, featuring weather that any bride and groom would wish for, seven couples renewed their vows surrounded by more than 40 friends and family in person and online. The service, which was based on the traditional wedding service from the United Methodist Book of Worship, included the traditional vows and a prayer for those couples whose earthly commitments were ended only by death. Pastor Mark’s message focused on the importance of a loving and supportive community in helping couples to succeed in their commitments. He called everyone to provide this community to others. The service included the premier of a video based on wedding photos received from members of the Congregation. You can also view the wedding photo video below. Couples had the option to recess to Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March”, to have pictures taken (you can also see the photos below), and to receive a certificate of Marriage Vow Renewal. A reception followed in Fellowship Hall complete with a “Wedding Cake”.
